01 -  In a mixing bowl, blend softened cream cheese with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar until completely smooth. 
 02 -  Spread an even layer of the cream cheese mixture onto four bread slices. Top each with sliced strawberries and a spoonful of strawberry jam. Complete each sandwich with the remaining bread slices. 
 03 -  In a shallow dish, vigorously whisk together eggs and milk until uniform. 
 04 -  Dip each assembled sandwich in the egg mixture, coating thoroughly on both sides. 
 05 -  Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet set over medium heat. Arrange sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until each sandwich is golden-brown and crisp. 
 06 -  Transfer sandwiches to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess butter. Dust with additional powdered sugar before serving.
